The museums of Jersey reveal much of its history and flair, ranging from an extensive collection of steam-driven machinery and railway nostalgia at the Pallot Steam, Motor and General Museum, to an unusual indoor exhibition of detailed sand sculptures at the Sand Wizard Exhibition in St. Peter. A number of Jersey museums reflect the island's German occupation in the 1940s, such as the Grève de Lecq Barracks, and the Channel Islands Military Museum, the latter of which is housed in a former German bunker.

Particularly fascinating and truly unique are the Jersey War Tunnels, formerly named the Höhlgangsanlage 8 (Ho8) and briefly used as a vast underground war hospital, although they were never actually completed. Located in central St. Helier, the Jersey Museum is filled with exhibitions celebrating the island's rich traditions and culture, and incorporates both a restored Victorian merchant's house and also the Barreau Le Maistre Art Gallery.
